How does a pop up socket work?


A pop-up socket, also known as a pop-up outlet or pop-up receptacle, is a type of electrical outlet designed to remain hidden when not in use and then "pop up" or extend when needed. These are often used in kitchen countertops, conference tables, or other furniture where having electrical access is useful but aesthetics are important when the outlet is not in use.

Retracted State:

In its retracted or closed state, the pop-up socket is flush with the surface it's installed in, whether it's a countertop or a table.

Users can plug in their electronic devices or appliances into the exposed outlets while the pop-up socket is in its elevated state.


After use, the user typically pushes the pop-up socket back down into its retracted position. The mechanical mechanism allows for a smooth descent, and the socket becomes flush with the surface once again.
